Ferry "Passo Barca" Lignano-Bibione 2025

The "Passo Barca" ferry that connects the city of Lignano Sabbiadoro to Bibione is in operation every day from April 5th to September 30th 2025. It allows you to cross the "Tagliamento River" on foot or accompanied by your bicycle on the Lignano-Bibione route and vice versa, at a cost of €1.00. Now active for 6 years, in 2024 alone more than 130,000 people used the service to cross the river that divides the Friuli and Veneto regions, an indispensable service for all tourists, but also for commuters from the two seaside resorts! The boat can transport a total of 25 people + 25 bicycles each way.
 

Where is the "Passo Parca" ferry to Lignano-Bibione located?

The ferry is located on the shore of Lignano Sabbiadoro between the "Porto Marina Uno" of Lignano Riviera and the "Alla Vecchia Finanza" restaurant, in "Via Punta Tagliamento", following the signs and walking along the gravel road surrounded by greenery. To take the ferry on the Bibione side, however, you will have to take the cycle path that crosses the entire seafront until you reach the "Bibione Lighthouse" and then continue towards the "Passo Barca", or take "Via del Faro" which is located at corner with "Via Capodistria" and "Via del Mare".

Why is the "Passo Barca" so loved?

The ferry that connects Friuli Venezia Giulia to Veneto was created with the collaboration of the authorities of the two seaside resorts of Lignano and Bibione. After some meetings, it was decided to open this wonderful service, which will aim to reach 150,000 passengers in 2025! Why is the boat deck so popular? There are 2 reasons: the first is the convenience of reaching the desired destination by leaving your car at home and doing some physical activity on foot or using your bicycle; the second reason is the wonderful panorama that this naturalistic window offers! For a symbolic fee, you can enjoy the passage on the historic "Tagliamento" river with its mouths, admiring the protected wildlife and vegetation that surround these enchanting places. For sunset lovers, in the last races of the day and depending on the period, you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset, accompanied by the quiet of nature or listening to the local fauna

Some advice for passengers of the "Passo Barca":

The service to reach the two seaside resorts of Bibione and Lignano Sabbiadoro is much loved and used by all tourists and residents, especially during the summer period from June to August. The wait for each route is around 40 minutes, so queues may form on the banks on weekends or holidays. We always recommend reaching one of the two banks well in advance of closing time; Likewise, in the morning we recommend arriving a little earlier than the opening time to best enjoy the entire day in the desired location.
 

Things to know before taking the boat pass:

• The ferry has 25 seats with possible bicycles, excluding the crew.
• The ticket price has a symbolic cost of €1.00 per person/route.
• Transport for accompanied children under 10 years of age (not yet completed) is free.
• The boat is accessible to people in wheelchairs or with disabilities.
• The boat is accessible to pregnant women or those with small prams.
• The boat is accessible to dogs of different sizes, only accompanied and on a leash.
• The ferry may be subject to variations/suspensions on days of bad weather or rain.
• After the last trip, the ferry will no longer be available for the outward/return journey.
