6th Youth Athletics Meeting "City of Lignano Sabbiadoro" 2025 - Mennea Day and Provincial Championship

A major sporting event celebrating Olympic values is scheduled for Lignano Sabbiadoro: the 6th Youth Athletics Meeting "City of Lignano Sabbiadoro". Now in its sixth edition, this event is one of the most anticipated moments of the season for young athletes from Friuli Venezia Giulia and beyond.

A Special Event: The Celebration of Mennea Day

This year, the event takes on an even deeper meaning, as it coincides with Mennea Day, the national day dedicated to the memory of Olympic champion Pietro Mennea, the "Freccia del Sud" (Arrow of the South). A fitting tribute to remember his legendary 19.72-second 200-meter world record and his immense sporting and human values, which continue to inspire new generations.

Races and Competitions on the Schedule, a day of sport offering a rich program of competitions:

• FIDAL Provincial Youth Relay Championship: The top clubs from the province of Udine will compete in exciting team races.
• "Giocatletica" for Beginners: An introductory athletics course based on games and fun, designed for the youngest participants.
• 5th Leg of the "Trofeo Modena": The meeting also counts as a event within the prestigious "Trofeo Modena" circuit.
   

 

A Day of Sport, Fair Play, and Fun

The event is dedicated to boys, girls, families, and all track and field enthusiasts. The goal is to promote the healthy values of sport, such as friendship, respect, and fair play, in a festive atmosphere of healthy competition.

The event is promoted by Lupignanum Track & Field, in collaboration with Libertas Udine, the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) – Provincial Committee of Udine, AICS, and with the patronage of the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro. The support of numerous local partners guarantees the quality and success of the initiative.
