37th International Meeting "Sport and solidarity"

On July 8, 2026, at the “G Teghil” Stadium in Lignano Sabbiadoro, the 37th International Meeting "Sport and Solidarity" will take place, together with the 12th Missoni Trophy, featuring over 200 professional athletes from 30 countries. The event, which will host around 3,200 spectators, promises an unforgettable show.

Among the participants will be multi-medal-winning world champions delivering top-level performances. The 37th International Meeting "Sport and Solidarity" is officially included in the World Athletics and European Athletics (EAA) calendars and is considered one of the most important sporting events not only in Italy but also in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Organized by Nuova Atletica dal Friuli, the meeting will feature the famous Jamaican sprint stars, including Kishane Thompson, Elaine Thompson, and Shelly-Ann Fraser, three-time Olympic world champion in the 100 meters, as well as the Spanish athlete Yeral Nunez, specialist in the 400 meters hurdles. In 2025, Leonardo Fabbri set the meeting record in the shot put with 22.13 m.

In addition to the top champions, the 37th International Meeting "Sport and Solidarity" will reserve a special space for athletes with disabilities, highlighting the importance of inclusion in sports, and for young talents from Friuli Venezia Giulia. Participation in the International Meeting is free; donations at the entrance will support local organizations working for people with disabilities.
