15° Habawaba international Festival

After the success of the 14th edition, the HaBaWaBa International Festival Lignano Sabbiadoro 2023 returns, the sporting event that involves girls and boys, ready to try their hand at a sport full of charm like water polo. From Sunday 18 June to Sunday 25 June 2023, HaBaWaBa, an acronym that stands for Happy Baby Water Ball, words that want to represent the joy of a child playing with a ball in the water, will bring 136 teams from 10 different countries to the Bella Italia EFA Village of Lignano Sabbiadoro for the largest sporting event in the world dedicated to children: 112 teams entered in the U11 tournament, 24 will take part in the U9. The 14th edition of the Festival will see young athletes from Brazil, Greece, Egypt, France, the Principality of Monaco, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Hungary and obviously Italy in the water.

Within the new 2023 program there will also be space for the 7th edition of HaBaWaBa Plus U14 which will be played with 64 teams (female and male).

Partners of the event FINA (Fédération Internazionale de Swimming), LEN European Aquatic, FIN Italian Swimming Federation, COMEN Confédération Méditerranéenne de Swimming and CONI.

Since the first edition in 2008, the festival has involved athletes, executives, coaches, enthusiasts and families! every year more than 3000 people gather in the swimming pools of the tourist village Bella Italia EFA village Lignano Sabbiadoro, home of the largest water festival!

The presence of HaBaWaBa International Festival is by now a fixed appointment in the summer of Lignano, a guarantee of success thanks to the perfect and tested organization by WPD Waterpolo Development, a non-profit association whose objective is the promotion of water polo. Young athletes from every continent will not only compete in the water, but will live together respecting the values of sport.
