Antonio Esposito, known artistically as Tony Esposito, is an Italian percussionist, singer-songwriter and musician whose music is influenced by sounds that come from different countries around the world, combined with tribal rhythms and melodies typical of the Neapolitan musical tradition. His creativity manifests itself in the creation of unique instruments such as the Tamborder, the iconic sound of his famous song "Kalimba de Luna". Before embarking on his solo career, Tony Esposito contributed in the seventies to the sound of various Italian and international artists such as Pino Daniele, Lucio Dalla, Don Cherry, Billy Cobham and others. In 1977, with the release of his third album, entitled Gente distratta, he received the Italian Music Critics Award. In 1985 he obtained the "Record Critics Award" for the single "Kalimba de Luna", which sold over 5 million copies worldwide. After a long break dedicated to live concerts, in 2003 he released the album Viaggio Tribale, the result of a journey through the countries of the Mediterranean Sea.
