Torchlight march for peace

The Lignano Torchlight Procession "Let's light up hope and walk for peace" will be held on December 8, 2024 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, starting from Piazza Abbazia at 4:30 p.m. This event, which promises to unite the community in a moment of reflection and sharing, offers several opportunities for participation throughout the day.

In the morning, from 11:00 to 12:00, a gazebo of the Parents' Committee will be active in Piazza San Giovanni Bosco, where everyone is invited to stop by to collect the lanterns that will illuminate the path of the torchlight procession.

In the afternoon, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., the gazebos of the Parents' Committee and the Lignano in Fiore Association will once again be present in Piazza Abbazia, serving as a meeting point for the distribution of the lanterns.

The Torchlight Procession will start promptly at 4:30 pm from Piazza Abbazia, with a suggestive walk that will wind along the main avenue to Piazza Fontana, and then return along the same avenue to Piazza San Giovanni Bosco. During the route, the word "PEACE" will be created, which will be illuminated by lanterns carried by the participating children and young people. This moment will culminate in a solemn atmosphere, enriched by the singing of Roberta Natalini, who will accompany everyone towards a moment of conviviality with a typical Christmas snack and hot chocolate offered by the Alpini.

At the end of the day, a Holy Mass will be held at the Church, which will be splendidly illuminated by lanterns, creating a magical and highly meaningful atmosphere.

The entire initiative is organized by the Lignano Parents' Committee and the Lignano in Fiore Onlus Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro, as evidence of a strong commitment to the community and to the values ​​of peace and hope.
