From December 6, 2025 to January 11, 2026, our enchanting seaside resort is transformed into a real enchanted kingdom, embellished with thousands of sparkling lights and wonderful decorations that fill the air with a festive and joyful atmosphere. To make everything even more special, the celebrations will continue until the feast of the Epiphany, allowing everyone to enjoy this magical experience.

Exciting new features are coming for the 2025 edition! Last year’s surprise was the spectacular circular ice-skating rink, built around the majestic Christmas Tree in Piazza Fontana.

Strolling along Viale Gorizia and Lungomare Trieste, or through the San Giovanni Bosco Park area (exact location to be announced soon), you can admire a multitude of charming wooden chalets, each one showcasing unique artisanal treasures.
You will find a delightful selection of typical products, such as beautifully decorated little Christmas trees, festive arrangements, and exquisite hand embroidery. Don’t miss the chance to discover classic Christmas stockings, scented candles, colorful aprons and kitchen towels, finely carved wooden creations, as well as sparkling costume jewelry and elegant accessories.

In recent years, this event has seen a significant increase in visitors and tourists from not only Italy, but also from nearby Austria and Germany, increasing the attendance of the city during this magical period. Thanks to the excellent local organization, Christmas in Lignano continues to grow every year, with new attractions, attention to detail and a rich calendar of events.

For many tourists it represents one of the most awaited festive periods of the season, a moment of relaxation to be enjoyed together with your family, relatives, or with friends. On this occasion, Lignano Sabbiadoro awakens and transforms into a wonderful period to experience Christmas together! let yourself be involved in the folklore, events and everything that begins on December 6th and ends with the feast of the Epiphany.

A long preparation of Christmas decorations, from setting up the lights to assembling all the structures, including: Christmas houses and villages, handcrafted decorations, Christmas trees in various areas of the city! It all started 3 weeks before the official inauguration which takes place in the first days of December.

Large Christmas Tree in Piazza Fontana

A large Christmas tree positioned in the main square of Lignano Sabbiadoro called Piazza Fontana, above the historic fountain, one of the symbols of the seaside resort! thousands of lights and decorations on a 15.5m high tree create a magical atmosphere, illuminating the streets and the heart of the seaside resort. Near Piazza Fontana you can find the entrance to the Christmas markets.

Sand Nativity

The sand nativity scene of Lignano Sabbiadoro, this year now in its 22st edition is one of the main attractions during the Christmas period, tens of thousands of people from all over Europe stop at the sand nativity scene to admire these magnificent sculptures, made by the "Associazione Dome Aghe Savalon d'Aur" one of the best associations in Italy with famous artists who model and create these sculptures on the sand. Free entry with a free offering, the proceeds will be donated to charity.

Santa Claus Village

The Santa Claus Village is located in the San Giovanni Bosco park in Lignano Sabbiadoro, on the occasion of the Christmas event, the locality's contral park will be transformed into a unique atmosphere, where your children can play and have fun with: children's games , the classic horse carousel, inflatable games, various rides installed for the occasion. Inside the park at the intersection with Viale Venezia, some kiosks are available with sweets, cotton candy, hot chocolate and sandwiches. Taste Village

The Christmas markets of Lignano Sabbiado are located in 2 main places, via Tolmezzo and Piazza Fontana, in these two streets you can find "the village of taste" with many stalls dedicated to food and beverage! you will find traditional food from Friuli Venezia Giulia, street food, various places dedicated to wine with tasting, famous craft beers including award-winning ones. There will also be arrosticini, dishes from nearby Austria, Spain and Argentina! Lignano Express train

Christmas in Pineta

This year, Christmas also comes to Pineta! In Piazza del Sole you will find an area dedicated to the festivities full of decorations, a charming village of exhibitors and food and wine kiosks.
